Lord, what are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you think of them? Psalm 144:3
Father, here I stand: wondering, hoping, waiting. Do you see me here? Is this place where I am dark to You? Am I lost or am I found? I stand at the edge looking down into the deep, dark unknown. Are you trustworthy enough for me? Will you catch me if I fall?
Father, here I lay: grieving, crying, losing. Do you see me here? Will you catch my tears as they fall? The flood threatens to overtake. Are you tender enough for me? Will you be here with me?
Father here I am: angry, livid, reeling. Do you see me here? Will you hold my anger as it comes? Injustice overtakes my soul. Are you safe enough for me? Will you embrace my angry soul?
Father here I cower: fearful, timid, anxious. Do you see me here? Will you cover me under the shadow of your wings? I see no escape. Are you strong enough for me? Will you chase away my fears?
Father, here I sit: ashamed, disappointed, embarrassed. Do you see me here? Will you forgive all my wrongs? My sorrow feels like an ache. Are you merciful enough for me? Will you heal my wayward heart?
Father, here I am: rejoicing, celebrating, enjoying. Do you see me here? I want to enjoy this place with You. Are you joyful enough for me? Will you celebrate with me?
Father, do you see me here?
